Die Houthoop welcomes nature lovers who would like to see Namaqualand in all its splendor. The flower season starts from June to October when winter rains have converted the veldt to a green “winter wonderland”.

 

Quaint chapel on the farm which is available for  christening or wedding services.

 

Informal walking trails are safe. You might see the “meerkat” or suricate, a "small mammal" while walking. There is a variety of plant life to enjoy on your walks and for the inquisitive person there is a world of insects, all the contributing to the unique ecosystem of the flower-utopia.

 

The cold Atlantic Ocean, dramatic West Coast and seasonal endemic wild flowers create an unique West Coast atmosphere. This is reflected at the Houthoop Guest farm.
